Revealing my latest piece
INTO THE UNKNOWN
“Into the Unknown” is an evocative piece of art that holds a significant place within the Komorebi Reimagined collection. This collection delves into the artistic technique of chiaroscuro, which involves the interplay of light and shadow to create a dynamic contrast within the artwork. This technique captures the essence of contrast, much like the intricate interplay between light and darkness in human nature.
The exploration of light and shadow parallels the way humans contemplate their own complexities and intricacies. Just as I examine the hidden facets of shadow, humans too are encouraged to delve into the unexplored recesses of their souls. This introspective journey unveils a hidden beauty that perpetually resides within silence and obscurity.

The focal point of “Into the Unknown” is the captivating portrayal of light’s interaction with shadow. This symbolic portrayal reflects the profound connection between light as the essence of our genuine nature and the shadow representing the concealed aspects of ourselves. It emphasizes that both light and darkness are integral parts of existence; they are not mutually exclusive but instead mutually enriching. One serves to enhance the other, giving rise to a harmonious balance.
The title itself, “Into the Unknown,” hints at a beckoning voyage—a call to embark upon a journey of self-discovery. This journey parallels the exploration of the hidden dimensions of the self as well as the profound mysteries of the Divine. The artwork invites viewers to step outside their comfort zones and venture into the uncharted territories of their souls, guided by the subtle, yet compelling, allure of water.
“But God now unveils these profound realities to us by the Spirit. Yes, he has revealed to us his inmost heart and deepest mysteries through the Holy Spirit, who constantly explores all things. After all, who can really see into a person’s heart and know his hidden impulses except for that person’s spirit? So it is with God. His thoughts and secrets are only fully understood by his Spirit.” 1 Corinthians 2:11-12
The poignant quote from the passage speaks to the revelation of profound truths and mysteries through the divine and spiritual realm. It underscores the notion that just as one’s deepest impulses are comprehensible only to their own spirit, similarly, God’s thoughts and secrets can be fully comprehended only through the connection with His Spirit.
“Into the Unknown” transcends its visual boundaries and communicates a narrative of exploration, introspection, and revelation. It echoes the harmonious relationship between light and darkness and the ever-present potential for discovery within the realms of the self and the Divine. As a part of the Chiaroscuro Symphony collection, this artwork stands as a testament to skillful play with light and shadow, inviting viewers to venture into the enigmatic depths of existence.
Looking for something Unique?
I get it you’re an individual and your looking for art to match your unique expression. But don’t have the time to do all the research, or shop around at galleries.
Work with someone that understands the importance of different. You know what you love. Work with an artist that knows.
The power of picture has a way of unlocking a heart like nothing else in this life. Even more so the transformative nature of creative paintings can mend broken dreams, lift fainted eyes, and even awaken weary hearts. If you are in need of an encounter with God your Creator then look no further than Tan-Yah’s painted creations. I have no doubt you will find Him there. —

Art is not only a beautiful image an artist captured on a paper or canvas
Art has the ability to come to life, it’s like the sound of a symphony of color composed in the heart of the artist. The crescendo builds up until the artist’s hand stops directing, and the orchestra of colors releases the crescendo of the heart’s message that echoes throughout eternity.
All artist strive to create that “perfect” piece. With every piece completed they stand back and say; “This is the best one yet”, only to find themselves composing another piece of art and declaring it to be the best one.
Art is a journey of discovery. Discovering how you see the world around you, how you fit into the this world and discovering God’s idea of what He created, chasing the elusive how and why. It’s not only a journey of discovery but one of embracing the intricately complex and beautiful world all around us.
When we finally come into harmony with the world, we discover peace. My aim as an artist is to create works of art that transport the viewer into a world of peace. As an artist I have been given the ability to create special encounters, deep moments and connections, that are able to satisfy the longing many have…. a face to face moment of becoming One with the Creator.

My recent series is called “Imagine.” The Collection was inspired by my childhood. I remember the days sitting on a blanket under the trees staring up at the clouds. My imagination would go wild, seeing new things every time the clouds would move. We lost the ability to create through our imagination, this series is a reminder that innocence creates beauty.

Creating a special piece
Art can represent the mood of our souls, from dark valley moments to light mountain highs. But to examine your spirit and to create from spirit is the inspiration behind my artwork. The “making” process may reflect a inner journey, a narrative or a process of exploring myself and the world around me. A reflection on a canvas of many epiphanies and spiritual connections – permeating from the unseen to the seen.
In the same way I approach artwork for my clients. Some of my greatest pieces were working with clients. It’s not only a pretty image on a canvas, it carries a message of both design and spiritual emphasis.
